When we diet, food dieting seems more difficult than exercise itself While exercise is simple as moving your body, food dieting is complex, in that we need to consider all the different weight, lifestyle, food intake and metabolism of an individual That’s why dieting is so hard And why are there so many diet foods out there? Odri and I also tried all of them Last time when we decided to make abs, we solely ate sweet potato, chicken breast, and broccoli for months When high protein and low carb diet was a fad, Odri was into for a long time And recently, we have been trying out intermittent fasting But the amazing thing was, all these diets DID work and we did lose weight However, in the end, our weight returned to its original state Initially, we calculated all the calories, measuring everything that we ate When we went out, we always packed our food But in the long run, it was only momentary When we finished our diet, we went back to our old routine Regardless of its fame, we only tried the diet method momentarily and repeated the process of losing and gaining weight As a result, we considered dieting to be almost impossible and continued to obsess over the numbers, like calories and weight But as time passed, we realized one thing Life is too short to lose and gain weight! There’s so many things we want to eat So we thought, let’s find a sustainable food diet Now, Odri and I try to enjoy all the food we want to eat and exercise without stressing ourselves We don’t lose weight dramatically as we did in the past, but we don’t gain weight dramatically either.
Therefore, we’re able to maintain a healthy weight Today, we would like to share our sustainable diet The common misconception of dieting is that you gain fat from eating fat But it’s not! Fat gain starts with carbohydrates.
So, intake of too much sugar leads to accumulation of body fat Our sustainable diet is not hard Take a look at this picture Let’s say you’re eating rice and side dishes So eat all the side dishes, but the rice, eat less of it You gain fat from the rice, or carbohydrates Don’t overdo it the first time;
Start with one spoon less, then two spoons, and so on At the same time, slowly increase your exercise time At the end, you should try to reduce that bowl of rice into 1/2 It’ll probably be difficult in the beginning Don’t reduce your food intake more than this, because your metabolism will decrease while your stress increase, and due to the hormone called cortisol, you will binge eat and end up with a yoyo The key here is to eat all the vegetables and meat as you normally do Let’s say we’re eating noodles instead of rice. Then eat all the meat and vegetables inside, while eating less of the noodles. You will lose weight If you like bread, eat all the salads and butter but reduce the amount of bread intake And increase your amount of exericse Protein, fat and vegetables give you satiation, so you should be eating this, not reducing it Of course, that doesn’t mean you should overeat proteins or salads! Cows and elephants eat only vegetables but still weigh over a ton Anyhow, the important key is to reduce the amount of carbohydrates and sugar in our food, while increasing the amount of exercise Personally, I love hamburgers. I inevitably eat it when I’m under stress But I only eat the insides, like the patty and lettuce The rest, like the buns and fries, I eat only half of the total amount And I find myself gaining less fat We can still lose weight while eating what we want, so don’t stress out on dieting And there’s something more important than this! Listen up! When you eat, focus only on eating I’ll tell you why this is important with science As we eat, the signal of ‘feeling full’ takes about 20 minutes to reach This signal is also known as Leptin, the hormone suppressing our appetite People like me who watch TV or smartphone while eating You can’t feel that Leptin hormone at work if do something else while eating… That’s why you eat more Have you heard of ‘Mindful Eating’? It’s the concept of thinking and focusing on your food as you eat When you eat, savor the flavor and scent of the food, while imagining that process of food passing through your stomach You’ll feel much fuller, even if you eat less! Really, trust me And it’s important that you stop eating, at the exact moment you consciously feel full This is really hard at first, I know There are two types of appetite: real and fake But our brain can’t differentiate between the two Sometimes our brain confuse thirst for hunger That’s why it helps to drink a cup of water, brush your teeth or chew on gum when you feel the ‘fake appetite’ And that’s why we need to feel this out I also had a hard time overcoming this habit of eating while watching TV, but I’m attempting to fix it It’s hard the first time, but it works You guys can do it too Just remember 2 things today! Reducing your amount of carbohydrates and sugar; it’s not difficult and when you eat, just eat! It’s really simple, but doing just this will help you lose weight Food diet doesn’t have to be complicated If you can’t sustain it, it’s not a diet
